TERMS AND CONDITIONS
RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENT
To book a horseback riding vacation, simply call Cross Country International, Corp. at (800) 828-8768. Our riding consultants will take the necessary information over the phone. We are usually able to confirm your reservation within 24 hours. A deposit of 50% of the total cost of the trip is required to hold a reservation. The balance of the total price is required at the offices of Cross Country International, Corp. no later than 2 months prior to your departure. Cross Country International, Corp. reserves the right to charge an additional fee of $100 for late payment if payment is not received by the due date. If final payment is not received when due, Cross Country International, Corp. reserves the right to cancel trip and no refund will be made on deposit.
If you must cancel your reservation, your cancellation fee will be determined according to the following formula:

Cancellations must be made before 5:00 pm (eastern time) on a business day. Saturdays, Sundays and legal Holidays are not considered business days. If you must postpone your tour to another scheduled date, you may do so upon payment of a $100 postponement fee per person and upon at least 61 days written notice to Cross Country International, Corp. You must reschedule your tour to occur within 52 weeks of the date of your original reservation, and only one postponement can be made.
Cross Country International, Corp. acts only as the marketing representative for various equestrian facilities. The Release (Riding Tour Agreement) form must be signed and returned to our office with initial deposit. If the Riding Tour Agreement is not received by the office of Cross Country International, Corp. by the start of the tour date, Cross Country International, Corp. reserves the right to treat the reservation as canceled.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
For your peace of mind, we require you to purchase our supplementary insurance package called Passenger Travel Protection Plan. It combines trip cancellation and interruption coverage (for covered reasons only), baggage loss protection and medical coverage, along with additional medical emergency evacuation coverage, and will provide 24 hour assistance. We include the cost of the insurance coverage as an item on your invoice. It is effective the day we receive your deposit for your trip. TRAVELER RESPONSIBILITY
As a traveler, you have responsibilities to Cross Country International, Corp., riding facilities and other travelers that include:
Selecting a trip appropriate to your interests and ability and being in sufficient health to undertake the trip. Preparing for the trip by discussing your trip with your riding instructor and packing appropriate clothing and equipment. Acting in an appropriate and respectful manner and in accordance with the customs and laws of the country or countries in which you are traveling. Making the instructor or guide aware if you feel unable to participate in a particular activity for any reason and to decline to participate.
Cross Country International, Corp. reserves the right to cancel a traveler's reservation to any tour due to acts of nature and/or any occurrence out of our control, and our sole liability shall be a full refund of the traveler's deposit or any payments made to us by traveler.
EQUIPMENT AND CLOTHING
All riders are required to wear appropriate riding clothing and equipment including but not limited to a riding helmet with chin strap and appropriate riding boots. A clothing list specific to the trip you select will be provided to you.
ITINERARY CHANGES
Cross Country International, Corp. reserves the right to alter the itinerary. Tour arrangements are sometimes made up to a year in advance. Unforeseen circumstances of any trip may require changes to be necessary.
LUGGAGE
On some trail rides, which require luggage transfer, travelers may be limited to two medium size bags per person.
Travelers on other trips are not limited as to luggage.
PRICES AND ARRANGEMENTS
Quoted tour prices include planning, handling and operational charges, and are based on current rates of exchange, tariffs and taxes. Cross Country International (CCI) reserves the right to increase tour prices to cover increased costs, tariffs and taxes, and to reflect fluctuations in foreign exchange markets. CCI is under no obligation to give breakdown costs involved in any Escorted or Custom program.
CCI. also reserves the right to withdraw a tour or any part of it, to make such alterations in the itinerary as it deems necessary or desirable, to refuse to accept or to retain as a member of the tour any person at any time, and to pass on to tour members any expenditures or losses caused by delays or events beyond its control.
LIMITS ON CROSS COUNTRY INTERNATIONAL'S RESPONSIBILITY
CCI, its employees, shareholders, officers, directors, successors, agents and assigns (collectively CCI), does not own or operate any entity which is to or does provide goods or services for your trip. As a result CCI is not liable for any negligent or willful act of any such person or entity or of any third person.
In addition and without limitation, CCI is not responsible for any injury, loss, death, inconvenience, delay or damage to personal property in connection with the provision of any goods or services whether resulting from but not limited to acts of God or force majeure, illness, disease, acts of war, civil unrest, insurrection or revolt, animals, strikes or other labor activities, criminal or terrorist activities of any kind, overbooking or downgrading of services, food poisoning, mechanical or other failure of aircraft or other means of transportation or for failure of any transportation mechanism to arrive or depart on time.
There are certain inherent risks in adventure travel of the type involved here. These include, but are not limited to, risks of white water rafting, kayaking and rafting (for example dangers of rapidly moving water, rocks and other submerged objects, hypothermia, etc), horseback riding, (for example, unpredictable behavior by the horses, being spooked, etc) hiking, walking safaris, downhill or cross country skiing, (for example, equipment failures, ice or other trail obstructions) and in all trips dangers of animals, inaccessibility to medical attention and difficulty in evacuation from remote locations in the case of a medical emergency. Passenger assumes all such risks with regard to these possibilities.
Travel Advisories and Warnings: It is the responsibility of The Traveler to become informed about the most current travel advisories and warnings by referring to the U. S. State Department's travel website at www.travel.state.gov or by phone at 1-888-407-4747. In the event of an active State Department Travel Warning against travel to the specific destination location(s) of the trip, should The Traveler still choose to travel, notwithstanding any travel advisory or warning, The Traveler assumes all risk of personal injury, death or property damage that may arise out of the events like those advised or warned against.
Travelers Representations: The Traveler represents that neither he nor she nor anyone traveling with him or her has any physical or other condition or disability that could create a hazard to himself or herself or other members of the tour. CCI reserves the right to decline to accept anyone on a trip. CCI reserves the right to remove from the trip, at his or her sole expense, anyone whose condition is such that he or she could create a hazard to himself or others, or otherwise impact the enjoyment of other passengers on the trip.
ANY PAYMENT TO CCI CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS SET OUT HEREIN AND IN MORE SPECIFIC PRE-DEPARTURE PASSENGER DOCUMENTATION, INCLUDING THE PASSENGER INFORMATION FORM.
