The Best Equestrian Vacations
Since we first started Cross Country International, Corp. fifteen years ago, our goal has been to consistently improve and perfect each and every rider's travel experience. Riders travel with us year in and year out because they know we are somewhat obsessed with quality. Each year, our staff travels throughout the world to find only the best horseback riding vacations. We consider an average of ten vacations for every one that makes it on to this website. Our criteria is simple: we look for places where we would like to spend our vacations.
Before selecting an equestrian vacation, we have researched and visited most or even all of the equestrian facilities in a country or province. We look at and ride the horses, stay in the accommodations, eat the food, and talk extensively with the people. We ask for references and check those references.
But we do not stop with a single visit. We frequently visit each facility we represent to satisfy ourselves that our customers will have a good time. As a result, we believe that we represent the best equestrian vacations in the world. This is why 75% of our riders each year have traveled with us before or were referred to us by friends or family.
Why Go?
The reasons for taking an equestrian vacation are numerous. Most people go because a horseback riding vacation is an opportunity to ride without interruptions, to make new friends who share your love of horses, to travel the way our ancestors traveled, and to see a country in a way that tourists miss. Some people go because they want to get training from some of the worlds best instructors. As riders ourselves, we know that leaving your own horse and barn to go train with someone out of state or overseas has to be worth the trip. That is why we have some of the top trainers in the world on our staff.
Traveling Alone
Many of our customers travel alone. Many of our riders are single. This is a great way to meet other people and just be yourself. After all, other horse people are as interested in meeting you as you are in meeting them. So do not fear, you may go alone but you will not be alone for long. We can let you know the composition of the group for a specific week, so please ask. We also offer a variety of Singles Only vacations.
Accommodations
Cross Country International, Corp. offers trips with a wide variety of accommodations. We have trips where you stay in bed & breakfasts or on a farm, other trips which offer a guesthouse and still others which offer accommodations in a castle or a five star hotel. Most trips offer one type of accommodation so if you are unsure of what each type of accommodation is like, please ask our staff and they will be happy to help.
Itineraries
Each trail riding trip on this website provides a daily itinerary to give you a better idea of what to expect. Please be aware that sometimes a ride may run in reverse of the published itinerary or that an itinerary may need to be altered to better cope with conditions.
