Youth Horseback Riding Camp in England

Yorkshire Riding Centre is run by two Olympic riders and coaches, Christopher Bartle and Jane Bartle-Wilson. Christopher who is a Fellow of the British Horse Society (the highest honor), is famous for his dressage performance at the Los Angeles Olympics on his great horse, Willy Trout and for his win in eventing at the Badminton Three Day Event in 1998 aboard Word Perfect.

Jane is one of Britain's great dressage competitors who has twice won the European Dressage Championships and is the coach of the British Dressage Team. Jane rose to fame aboard her wonderful horse Pinnochio. The senior instructors at Yorkshire Riding Centre have all studied under Christopher and Jane.

Yorkshire Riding Centre has become one of the epicenters of quality horseback riding instruction in Great Britain. It is equipped with two large indoor arenas, an outdoor arena, a stadium jumping and a cross country course. There are many horses trained to most levels of riding.

The program consists of two hours of lessons on the flat and/or jumping (more for the Intensive Program) plus one hour of theory per day. Lessons are taught by the senior instructors. There is frequently a "best turned out" competition followed by a dressage or jumping competition. Guests are welcome to watch lessons or horses being schooled. There is opportunity to groom and care for the horses.

In addition to "the work" of training, there are several diversions such as tennis, badminton, volleyball and ping-pong, television and videos. Excursions appropriate to the age of the group including swimming, bowling, sightseeing and trips to the cinema are usually arranged.

A choice of accommodations in the Guesthouse or student Dorms is available. Lessons with The chief instructors are available at additional cost.
